According to the abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization: "The present invention relates to an automatic gold bar vending machine comprising: an offline selling unit (10); an online selling unit (20); security monitoring means (30); communication means (40); a central control unit (50); a memory unit (60); sensor means (70); a communication interface unit (80); a total management server (90); and a database (DB). The present invention enables a user to purchase, in a convenient manner through an unmanned automatic vending machine, articles such as gold bullion (hereinafter referred to as a "gold bar"), the price of which frequently changes. The present invention also enables the user to pay for articles purchased from an automatic vending machine by cash and a card, and has means for communicating with antitheft prevention means, the user, and an automatic vending machine manager in a remote location, thereby increasing the convenience of purchasing products and enabling efficient and easy automatic vending machine management. In addition, the automatic vending machine of the present invention Internet functions to enable the online purchase of articles via the Internet, and further enables the purchaser to sell the purchased articles back to the seller via the automatic vending machine as needed. The present invention is advantageous in that it enables the offline and online purchase of products through an unmanned automatic vending machine, thereby significantly reducing the selling price providing an economical way of purchasing products."
