HARTWICK HAS A CAPITAL REGION LOOK TO IT.(SPORTS)

At first glance, the Hartwick College men's basketball roster could easily be mistaken for a Capital Region all-star squad.

Not only are four Warriors graduates of area high schools, but even the assistant coach is a native of Albany.

Greg Bonczkowski (Shenendehowa), Thomas Farone (Saratoga High), Pete Buhrmaster (Bishop Gibbons) and Dave Clarke (Mayfield) have all contributed in 20 games for Hartwick.

The Warriors are 9-4 in the Empire Athletic Association and 11-11 overall.

Bonczkowski, a sophomore guard, is the third-leading scorer on the team, averaging 8.0 points and 14.1 minutes per game. He is the top 3-point shooter for the Warriors and ranks third in the Empire Athletic Association with a .433 shooting percentage from behind the arc. …
