Fed: Defence to be told not above the law in stand down

CANBERRA, Feb 5 AAP - The nation's defence personnel will today be told they are not
above the law in an unprecedented stand down.

All personnel from the three defence arms will put down their weapons and tools to
hear from Defence Force chief Admiral Chris Barrie in a compulsory video link-up.

It follows claims of bastardisation against whistle blowers in the army's elite 3RAR
parachute battalion that are the focus of a parliamentary committee hearing.

Admiral Barrie plans to lay it on the line to all personnel.
