Qld: Milton tennis club reduced to ashes

Fire has destroyed the old Queensland Lawn Tennis Association clubrooms in inner suburban Milton.

A Fire and Rescue Authority spokesman says the building, which housed clubrooms, office
space and a restaurant, caught fire just before noon and has burnt to the ground.

Area coordinator IAN GILBERT says the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Dozens of firefighters using six fire trucks and a cherry picker concentrated on saving
two nearby houses that were under threat from the flames.

The fire investigation unit and police are investigating the blaze.
